Two very different plants can do much the same things. Compare this golden guinea everlasting (Helichrysum argyrophyllum) with the Little Luna goodenia (23 Mar): silvery matting foliage with cheery yellow flowers for a groundcover or spillover and a dry style, cottage or Mediterranean feel. Or in an alpine/rockery garden. Both will grow much the same size under much the same conditions. How to choose? This one is South African not Australian and has paler papery flowers that appear much later in the season and can be dried. Or you just prefer the look of one over the other.
