More on NZ plants in NZ. More domestic this time. Two forms of griselinia in gardens: the smaller, upright ‘Broadway Mint' on the left and ‘Variegata' on the right.
Two things strike me as strange here. First, that the gold flushed stems of ‘Broadway Mint' give it an overall effect that's more yellow than the variegated plant.
Second, why this species didn't catch on in Australia while Coprosma repens – another NZ native which can be used in much the same ways – has got to the point of being weedy in some areas here.
Hard to predict popularity.
