A top nurseryman once asked me what I knew about this curious new Strobilanthes (again, too unknown for a common name) that was appearing on the market. I'd seen it but had no personal experience. A few years later there's still not much info out there. Complicating it further, a Google search intuits the species name ‘gossypium' instead of ‘gossypinus' and so turns up rubbish. I can now confirm it grows happily and easily in my mother's garden in full Sydney sun. And this one from my Melbourne trip in a shadier position could probably have done with a tip pruning for density earlier in the season but was clearly doing well too. Any other experiences?
